HerpMapper is designed to gather and share information about reptiles and amphibians across the planet. If you're out on your bike and spot a herp, such as a turtle, tortoise, lizard, toad or snake, you can share your sighting with researchers and other herp enthusiasts.
You can enter your observations via the project website and HerpMapper is also available as a mobile app which can be used offline. Any photos you upload can be seen by others which means you can also see the cool herps being recorded by other HerpMappers from around the world.
Using HerpMapper, you can create records of your herp observations and keep them all in one place. In turn, your data is made available to HerpMapper Partners – groups who use your recorded observations for research, conservation, and preservation purposes. Your observations can make valuable contributions on the behalf of amphibians and reptiles.
